About This Race
The fourth annual Sankt Nikolaus 5k or 5 Miler Lauf continues to be a unique race added to Indianapolis' downtown running events and a special first for the holiday season. The race is again being hosted by the Indiana German Heritage Society who are raising proceeds for Riley Children's Hospital, the Indianapolis' YMCA "Y for All" Campaign, the children of Lutherwood, and the Athenaeum Foundation. We highly encourage you to dress in your best St. Nick suit!

What
The 2012 event is SPONSORED by Eli Lilly and Company. This fourth year event is again sanctioned by USATF and is open to all individuals.
Where
The Athenaeum is located across from the Murat Theatre: 401 E. Michigan St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
Event Schedule
Friday, November 30th Registration and Packet Pickup:
- Runners Forum (Delaware Ave): 11:30am-2:30pm
- Athenaeum: 4:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday, December 1st
- Registration and Packet Pickup: Athenaeum: 7:30am-9:15am
- 5K Start: 9:30am
- Awards Ceremony: 11:15am
Course
The ever-changing scenery throughout the course starts in historic Lockerbie Square and then runs east towards Woodruff Place. In general, the course is flat and finishes directly in front of the Athenaeum, home of the famous Rathskeller restaurant.

- Awards will be presented approximately 11:15am
- Cash Awards for 5Mile 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places Overall (Male & Female)
- Gift Certificates for 5K 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places Overall (Male & Female)
Goodie Bags
Our sponsors will have a variety of surprises in this year's goodie bag. Early registrants will have priority over race day registrants.
Post Race & Holiday Music
The race will feature live commentary and play by play finishing. Included will be our favorite holiday tunes; but, we can only play St Nick's requests. Runners' will be able to gather in the warmth of the Athenaeum building where the YMCA has opened the doors for runners to clean up after the race. (You will not see this anywhere!)
